Hello everyone. I have a good friend who married into the Bad Moccasin family. They are trying to find their family ties and believe their family belonged to the Wahpekute Tribe. They are searching out information for me to see if they can find their family history. In the meantime, anyone out there who knows anything at all about this line, please let me know. I appreciate the help.

here is more info on Mary Bad Moccasin: her maiden name was Mary Jane Eagle Shield. Her father was Eagle Shield, and her mother was Track. She had an older sister Julia Eagle Shield, and a younger brot(Ref. crow creek Census 20 June,1898)
Mary Jane's first husband was Joseph White and they had a son Herman(Ref. 30 June 1910 crow creek Census) Mary Jane was next married to J.D. Atkins (Ref. Jun 30, 1912 crow creek census). herman is now listed with the surname Atkins. Mary Jane's third husband was Joseph Bad Mocassin with whom she bore the children in my previous posting( Ref. 30 Jun 1924 Crow Creek census). Mary Jane's fourth husband is listed as Clyde Cecil in the Jun30,1927 crow creek census. Mary Jane is listed as a widow. Hope this information helps.

mary jane's parents were not Wahpekute, but Lower Yanktons according to the Crow Creek Censuses I found at ancestry.com You might checkout the pre-1862 annuity rolls for Minnesota to see whom her father was affiliated with.

Good question Allie. My friend is helping her husband find his family roots. The Bad Moccasin line. She also states that she believes at one time the name was HIS BAD MOCCASIN. So any information of course will be appreciated. As soon as I get more from her I will post it. Especially since I know how hard it is to find people. Des or hermin, mucho gracias, mi amiga.

Clayton (Claymore) Cyril (Bad Moccasin) Granados was my father, he was the youngest of his family. He passed away in 1995.
